forever missed...never forgotten

wow, I feel like it's been a year since I blogged last and it's only been a week. I have been struggling to find something creative to blog about the last few days so i thought i would focus on a very serious issue.

We all see people with cancer and we always hope and pray they beat this nasty disease. Over the last few years I have watched my Aunt's best friend battle this disease and last week she lost her battle with breast cancer. Tonya was and will always be one of the strongest, most amazing, caring, funny, fearless people I know. Tonya was a ray of sunshine and such a joy to be around, she never felt sorry for herself or showed any kind of fear. It's women like Tonya that give other women a glimmer of hope, she helped other women daily with their battles while she was fighting her own. We can all learn something from Tonya...no matter what life throws your way, there's always time to help others in need.

I remember the last time I was with Tonya, I was in Oklahoma with my Aunt Gina visiting my Grandparents. We had planned a trip for me to tour Oklahoma University (Tonya's Alma Mater) and to go to the OU vs. Texas A&M football game. We tailgated all day outside the stadium, watched the game on multiple 60 inch TV's and hung out with hundreds of people and college kids (we do big things in OK). Not one time did Tonya complain, she was along for the fun and later that night we went to this little mexican drive thru that my Aunt insisted we go to because they used to go in high school. I have no idea what the place was called but I remember it was BOMB! This was the last time I saw Tonya healthy, I will cherish these memories for the rest of my days.

We miss you sweet Tonya! I hope you are having fun up in heaven.

With all of this being said, it's up to US to find a cure!
